the Goodwin Sands lie off Deal and the strong winds and powerful currents ensure the sands are always shifting. Almost two thousand ships have met their deaths there. On the bright side, in summer at low tide there is an annual cricket match played on them.

DCMS' Equality Scheme consultation

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport's Equality Scheme has been revised and updated to comply with the Gender Equality Duty that came into force in April 2007, and the department is seeking views of all those who have an interest in how the Department is run.
