Active People online tool available

Active People Diagnostic, an online tool for analysing the results of Sport England's Active People survey, is now available. The tool allows various levels of analysis, including profiling, comparison and segmentation, and is detailed at various geographical areas e.g. by the South East, by  County Sports Partnership, by local authority area. There are pre-determined reports and an interactive area that allows you to define your own queries and create bespoke reports. This means you can, among other things:

  • see how your area is performing with respect to key performance indicators. If you're a local authority it will also tell you how you are doing compared to other local authorities
  • compare your area against your geographical neighbours, or similar areas to yours in terms of social and economic parameters.
  • analyse participation in your area broadly or in more depth
  • check out results over a large number of variables

Active People Diagnostic users have used the tool to:

  • identify areas where they are performing well or badly, and used the information as a direction to investigate further
  • as a benchmark for performance improvement
  • identify other areas that have performed well and to learn from those areas
  • identify trends and barriers to particpation in their own areas
  • linked the information to their own qualitative reports
  • add extra weight to their own surveys
