Bringing History Alive with Artefacts

This year long project developed cross curricular materials so that teachers could make the most of Reading Museums Hands On Learning Loan Box Scheme.  The initiative means that other teachers can use museum artefacts in the classroom and enrich their pupilsҒ learning.
Four Reading primary schools, the LEA Primary adviser and the Museum of Reading worked together to develop the materials.

The teachers involved developed their skills by creating ideas to teach a range of curriculum subjects. Children in their classes benefited from the increased learning outcomes.  Future users of the museums loan boxes will also benefit from the detailed background material written by and for their peers.
