Young Cultural Creators

This project was designed to inspire young people's creativity in reading and writing through visits to their local museum and library, and the involvement of a local artist.

Banburys museum and library worked together with four primary schools and childrenҒs writer Adam Gullain on the initiative, based on a model developed by Archives, Libraries & Museums London (ALM).  The four schools involved had not previously had strong links with the museum or library.  The children were encouraged by the writer to use their imagination and the resources within the museum and library to extend their literacy and social skills.
The library and museum, local author and the teachers drew up the programme of work together - sharing skills across different disciplines and demonstrating how agencies can work together.
