The Weald

The heathland landscape of The Weald, with its late summer bursts of purple heather and yellow gorse, dates back to the Bronze Age. Rare and attractive animals associated with this habitat included insects such as the silver-studded blue butterfly and the brilliant emerald dragonfly, and rare birds such as the Dartford warbler and the nightjar.

Sharing Skills
Sharing Skills is one of Renaissance South Easts core partnership initiatives, funded by the South East Hub, and managed by MLA South East. More

Workforce Mapping
MLA South East commissioned a groundbreaking study from the Social Informatics Research Unit at the University of Brighton to map the size and qualifications of the current museum, library and archives sector workforce. This is the first regional sector workforce study of such breadth and has provided a template and toolkit for the other MLA regional agencies to gather data. The final report identifies the key themes they are or should be tackling over the coming years.

Schools4Museums
Schools4Museums is an MLA South East and South East Museums Hub initiative designed to improve the sector's understanding of how schools currently use museums in the region. Sussex Arts Marketing was commissioned to create a schools database, accessible online, that will serve as a key marketing planning tool. It holds information on the level and type of museum use by schools across the South East.
