National Community Safety Plan 2008-11

Print friendly version

The National Community Safety Plan builds on the Home Office crime strategy, Cutting Crime  It aims to inform the work of local partnerships that have a role in community safety, especially CDRPs, LSPs  and LCJBs. It explains what action is expected at local, regional and national levels to deliver government’s community safety objectives. These are set out in the Public Service Agreements for 2008-11, in particular PSA 23: Make communities safer.

The Plan also provides information on policies and programmes relevant to other PSAs that support community safety. It acknowledges the contribution that culture and sport make to delivering these PSAs, including:

  • PSA 14: Increase the number of children and young people on the path to success
  • PSA 16: Increase the proportion of socially excluded adults in settled accommodation and employment, education or training.
