Increase the percentage of schools achieving the new National Healthy School Standards (Baseline 40%, Yr 3 target 80%) R

Healthier Communities and Adults (Older People)

Improve Health and Reduce Health Inequalities - Improved Health and reduced health inequalities by narrowing the gap in mortality between the worst and best wards across RBWM

Difference in life expectancy between lowest and highest quintiles of wards [supported by halting the increase in obesity, promoting exercise in population over 50, increasing Healthy Schools and other 'metrics'] (Baseline gap in life expectancy between best and worst quintiles of wards in 2000-4 = 3.5 years, Yr 3 target 1.6% reduction)

Improve Health and Reduce Health Inequalities - To promote the dangers and risk associated with obesity and encourage those with a high BMI (30+) index to take regular exercise and improve their diet

The number of people with BMI >30 who will have reduced their BMI to <27 through a structured exercise and weight loss programme (Baseline 60, Yr 3 target 120) R

Empower local people to have a greater choice and influence over local decision making and a greater role in public service delivery - Empower local people to have a greater voice and influence over local decision making and a greater role in public service

An increase in the numbers of people recorded as or reporting that they have engaged in formal volunteering on an average of at least two hours per week over the past year (Baseline 1113, Yr 3 target 1370).

['(Increasing and Strengthening Volunteering in the Borough' is a cross cutting priority, which includes specifically targeting sports and cultural voluntary groups working with young people through the reward target.]

Cleaner, greener and safer public spaces

Number of parks achieving Green Flag Status (Baseline 0, Yr 3 target 6) R

% population who are 'fairly' or 'very satisfied' with parks and open spaces (Baseline 82%, Yr 3 target 89%) R

Other comments: Under the fourth theme of Economic Development and Enterprise there are no specific cultural and sport indicators but medium to longer term priorities for the LAA include to strengthen tourism and maximise business opportunities for the Olympics 2012 and consider the economic and tourist advantages of the expansion of Heathrow.
