The following examples of indicators for learning outcomes, skills and qualifications have been taken from Sustainable Community Strategies up to the end of 2007 and round 1-3 Local Area Agreements:
- Proportion of young people (aged 5-19 and up to 24 for those with additional needs) who participate in cultural and sport services/activities who achieve a recorded outcome.
- The percentage of the adult population who have developed a new skill or achieved a learning outcome through cultural or sports activities.
- Numbers of young people taking up tuition and completing a cultural or sports course e.g. music, sports coaching.
- The percentage of the adult population who have received arts or sports tuition from an instructor or coach.
- Numbers of young people achieving recognised accredited certificates for skills based activities e.g. Arts Award, Sports Leader Award.
- The percentage of children achieving Key Stage 2 standard for swimming (25 metres) by age 11.
- Percentage of pupils at Key Stage 2 in identified primary and middle schools achieving an Entry Level Certificate in Music Performance.
- Percentage of pupils completing cycling safety courses.
- Number of high schools embedding enterprise and creativity into their curriculum.
- Number of adults attending return to sport courses for the first time.
- Number of adults on Level 3 programmes (Centre of Vocational Excellence – CoVE) in tourism (including sport & recreation).
- The number of the workforce with NVQ level 2 qualifications and level 4/5 qualifications across key sectors (including culture and sport).
- Number of individuals trained to deliver cultural and sports activities within clubs and the community.
- Adult learning session attendee hours per 10,000 population.
- The number of people with a learning disability or mental health problem participating in cultural and sports opportunities provided through targeted services.
- Number of leisure and learning sessions undertaken by older people and people with disabilities, sensory impairment and mental health problems.
- The number of nursing/care homes and learning disability establishments where staff have been trained in the principles of physical activity and nutritional standards.
- The number of GP referrals for exercise.
- Number of older people becoming art and music, sport and physical activity trainers and mentors.
