Local performance indicators included within the Local Area Agreement will be based on the priorities and targets set out in the Sustainable Community Strategy. They may include indicators that measure culture and sports intrinsic value - the self expression, fun and sense of fulfilment they provide – and its instrumental value - the contribution they make to sustainable communities and a wide range of social, health, economic and environmental outcomes.

Local performance indicators may be:

• quantitative - for example, the number or percentage of young people or adults actively participating in cultural and sports activities, or
• qualitative - for example, residents or participants satisfaction with cultural and sports provision or their perceptions of the impact engagement with culture or sport has had on their lives.
