The South East has much to offer and much to gain from London 2012. The region can play a significant role in delivering the Games because of its:

• proximity to London
• position as a global gateway to Britain
• internationally competitive regional economy and talented workforce
• enterprising and diverse communities
• world class sporting and cultural heritage and natural assets.

The region is also ideally placed to maximise the potential of the 2012 Games and create a lasting and sustainable legacy for the communities and businesses of the South East. The South East Partnership for London 2012 has produced its framework :

Compete, Create, Collaborate for a World Class Performance. 

Tourism South East has also published ‘On Your Marks... Get Set... Go! 2012 Visitor Economy Strategy’ that highlights how the South East can maximise the benefits of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
