Regional Commentaries
What are Regional Commentaries?
Regional Commentaries are an initiative of the Department of Cultural, Media and Sport, and are intended to foster closer understanding and working arrangements between local authorities and cultural agencies, with the ultimate aim of ensuring cultural activity is embedded in local authority strategies and plans.
The process started in May 06 and is aimed at all single tier and county councils.

What's happening in the South East?
Sport England, MLA South East, Arts Council England, South East and Culture South East, led by Government Office for the South East, worked together to create a process for producing regional commentaries for all 19 of the relevant local authorities in the South East. One of the tasks of the Southeast Cultural Observatory was to collate and present evidence or links to evidence to help the cultural agencies make their commentary.
