Thames Gateway South Essex Partnership
The Thames Gateway South Essex Partnership is a public/private sector partnership that delivers regeneration and growth in the South Essex part of the Thames Gateway.
The Sustainable Communities Plan envisages growth of 45,000 houses and 55,000 jobs in South Essex between 2005 and 2016.
In October 2001, the Thames Gateway South Essex Partnership published its "Vision for the Future" which sets out the major aims and objectives for the regeneration of South Essex. That Vision looked forward to the creation of sustainable communities making the most of the unique characteristics of South Essex.
The follow-on document, "Delivering the Future" sets out the route by which that plan can be realised in a series of initiatives including those for culture. http://www.tgessex.co.uk
Culture in Thames Gateway South Essex
Thames Gateway Culture Task Group (TGCTG)
The TGCTG is the cultural arm of The Thames Gateway South Essex Partnership with a strategic aim of a co-ordinated approach in the regeneration & growth of the cultural infrastructure in the gateway. By working in partnership with key representatives from the cultural sector, Local Authorities, Government Agencies and central & regional government bodies, the forum acts as an advocate for the social and economic benefits of cultural activity and seeks opportunities for the cultural sector to positively influence the development of sustainable communities at local, regional and national levels.
The task group is co-ordinated by Living East, the Regional Cultural Consortium for the East of England.
