Sissinghurst holds a popular monthly Fresh Produce market in its Elizabethan Barn, bringing together local producers, suppliers, farmers and smallholders, with visitors and members of the local community. They sell a wide range of seasonal and organic produce including fruit, vegetables, poultry, meat, herbs, cider and wines, cheeses, breads and cakes, honey, jams and other locally-made produce.
The project successfully supports the local suppliers of Sissinghursts restaurant, The Granary; forges good links with the local community; attracts additional visitors; and provides an outlet for other local food producers. It also aims to support the ғProduced in Kent project for county-based suppliers.
