Local Government

Local government is one of the key delivery agents for cultural activity in the South East and we believe it should be a focus for the cultural sector. Local authorities spend more on cultural activities, own most of the cultural infrastructure and have access to the people and communities who need culture most. Local authority officers are committed to helping their communities, and many officers can see how culture can help them do this.

We're committed to helping the cultural sector and local government work together to improve the quality of life for all communities in local authority areas.

This is a resource section of SECO  to support the case for culture in Local Authorities and in particular for the development of Local Area Agreements.
