Purpose

Local Government Association

The LGA exists to promote better local government. We work with and for our member authorities to realise a shared vision of local government that enables local people to shape a distinctive and better future for their locality and its communities.

Chief Cultural and Leisure Officers Association

CLOA is the Professional Association for strategic leaders involved in public sector cultural and leisure services. It works with central government and other national organisations to influence the development of national policies, lobby for positive change and provide a peer-support network.

Audit Commission

The Audit Commissions mission is to be a driving force in the improvement of public services. We promote good practice and help those responsible for public services to achieve better outcomes for citizens, with a focus on those people who need public services most.

The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy

CIPFA has responsibility for setting accounting standards for local government.

Improvement and Development Agency

The IDeA works in partnership with all councils, to enhance the performance of the best, accelerate the speed of improvement of the rest, and develop the sector as a whole.

Local Government International Bureau

The LGIB works with the Local Government Association to promote local government interests in European legislation, funding and policy

National Association of Local Government Arts Officers

With over 325 Local Authorities from all over England and Wales as members, nalgao is the largest organisation in the country representing local government arts interests
